Markdown is used when updating content, landing pages, announcements, or managing your Directory. When using the markdown editor, there will be additional formatting characters in your text box. This will change once saved. There is a preview option when editing to allow you to see how it will look to your members.
When using the Markdown editor, you will see a toolbar at the top of the text box, that allows you to format your text in a variety of different ways.
The first button, the B icon, allows you to Bold your text.
The second button, the I icon, is for Italic font.
The fifth button, the Headings H icon, allows you to set a heading. This will increase the font size and make that heading stand out.
The eighth button, the Link icon, allows you to link a URL to the text. Select the text where you would like to activate the link and click the link button. Then in the first box, type in the text you want to show to your members, then in the second box, provide the URL link. Click "Submit."
The ninth button, the File (paper icon) button, will allow you to link documents. To use this, select where you would like the document in the text box, click the "File" (paper icon) button, type in the text you would like to present to your members, then click "Choose File and select file from your computer that you would like the member to download. Click "Submit."
The last button, the Preview (eye icon) button, will allow you to preview how everything will look to your members. So before clicking save, click the "Preview" button to ensure you have added all the information.
Everything is left-aligned, including images.
You can right-align (or even center) text in a table, but this does not work on images.
If making a table, an online table generator can be found here: https://www.tablesgenerator.com/markdown_tables.
Images must be set at the proper size before uploading them and include an alt-text (description of the Image). Click the "Image" icon in the Body Content menu bar will appear. Make sure to input the alt-text (ex: 'man holding glass,' 'building,' 'Hospital Health System logo').
NOTE: Some extended syntax are NOT allowed in ACEMAPP.
